We live in a tiny Hamlet in CT called Milton, which is Historically protected. A Historic Church, a Historic school building converted to a residence, a one room Historic Town Hall form our Green. We are walking distance. Our Greek Revival style farmhouse sits on the National Historic Registrar for the U.S. Department of the Interior and was built in 1840 by H.P.Welch, a then prominent banker. The property is also featured in the book "Litchfield, The Making of New England Town", by Rachel Carey, and is exhibited on our greater Litchfield Town map- top row third in from the right. It was farmed originally, and throughout the many years that followed on its high meadow and lawns. We purchased the 23 acre estate several years ago, when we sold our home on Miami Beach and settled in Connecticut where I now study at The Rumsey Hall School. I was 12 years old when we moved in, and it was during the tail end of Covid 19 when finding a home in Litchfield was difficult. My Mom saw potential and we talked about the work it would take, but we agreed it would be an adventure together to restore it, and very special in the end. She began restoring the interiors, preserving as much of its original character and structure as possible, while I surprised her and "set up shop" in the garage and the antique barn. I started studying the land itself. I selected just over 16 acres of land, and began revitalizing the farm. I let a local young farmer keep a handful of cows over the Summer on our pastures and I flower " seed bombed" the meadows. The relationship was mutually beneficial. Using an app and other books, I researched all of the various natural growth on our property asking my Mom to practice "no mow May" which unveiled an incredibly vast selection of edible plants, (and flowers) obviously planted over the years by previous owners. Over the first Summer, I began growing beds of edible flowers, and harvesting the naturally medicinal flowers which "flower-scaped" our lawns and meadows. My Mom and I planted a Dahlia "Vineyard" together. We've expanded our barn to include ducks and hens, we have two pet goats named Harry & Potter who protect our birds and our Quarter horse Goose enjoys the pastures. Our two Belton English Setter brothers Clive & Lief also live on our property and will energetically, welcome guests at the front lawn. Today the farm is thriving, and our farmhouse is nearly done. Aside from donating to our Historic Trinity Church and in community outreach whenever possible, we're proud to have served in our first year David DiStasi & "Materia Restaurant" (Best New Establishment CT, Best New Restaurant CT & Best New Chef CT 2021-2023) by creating his giant "forced" branch & flower displays his opening year, and providing delicate edible flowers & produce for his menu. We serve the local community of other smaller restaurants on the chic foodie radar like 'Inari", a new Asian Bistro in the Washington Depot, and we are truly honored to have produced 2023-2024 for acclaimed Michelin
Star Chef Jose Ramirez Ruiz, during his time at the Iconic "Mayflower Inn & Spa", (The WELL) &
The Auberge Collection Resorts. We are continuing our service to The Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection this Spring & Summer 2024 with our AF fresh flower "turn down" tea service, flower bath amenities and other edible flowers for their restaurants and cozy countryside bar.

Our founder was born in Miami, Florida and lived also
in the Biltmore in Asheville N.C. where she was introduced to the great outdoors, instead of a cell phone, trained as an equestrian hunter-jumper and later learned to plant a "micro farm" in her backyard with her Mom (a full time lawyer, but avid gardener). This was during Covid 19 when food chain reliability was at arguably at risk, and being outside was great for relieving the stress of Covid restrictions . Her Uncle, a chef originally trained in Paris, but living in Asheville N.C. taught her "it's all about the ingredients", "go seed to table" and " use an organic free range egg in anything you prepare". With paternal grandparents in Europe who are big "foodies" who like to cook nightly as a family, a maternal grandmother in N.C. who is an artist who loved to "plate" and "table -scape" and having several innovative doctors in the family, our Founder began to "connect- the- dots" between special family hours, good eating and good health. Our Founder became greatly interested in less commonly known produce, and enjoys studying medicinal plants, and flowers. She aspires to follow in the path of her grandparents studying innovative medicine, and researching the cure for Cancer as well as other major diseases. Her Taglines at Arabella Farm are " You GROW Girl" & "Eat the Flowers" hoping to inspire others to consciously participate in good health.

Our team at Arabella Farm @ The H.P. Welch Mansion, Circa 1840 is made up of dedicated farmers, foragers, a manager and support staff who are passionate about what they do. We work hard every day to ensure that our animals are well-cared for, and that our flower meadows, orchards, riverfront crops and beds are healthy and abundant. We're proud to be a part of the local farming community, and we're always happy to share our knowledge and experience with others by offering "agri- tours" and education. Coming soon we will offer Summer flower picking, art & photography, yoga, hammock hang outs and Volleyball days on the Meadow, forest bathing, BBQ and other we will do by the barn and Riverfront. My family's Guesthouse will be available soon for "agri/ fly fishing stays", and a giant list of outdoor activities. We will do in- depth week long seminars on things like how you can grow our products in your own gardens, care for hens or ducks if you are curious, forage for Winter home decorations and why eating organically, and just getting outdoors more (in every Season) is so critical to your health.
I believe in living beautifully, and in balance with nature. That is why I started this farm. I will be blogging soon, so check back from time to time to see what we are doing. I hope you will enjoy seeing our edible flower selection, our cut flowers, and other produce and that you will use them to make your day just a little beautiful, even if it is as simple as dropping fresh flower petals in your ice cubes, or making a "petal fresh" tea to spoil yourself like I try to do after a long day of school, sports or whatever I am up to.
We go a step further and practice "seed-to-table". We begin with non- GMO seed for our produce from Italy, (where "GMO" is strictly not allowed ), we plant and produce on site with no fertilizers, or pesticides. We know that food grown on healthy land with healthy farming is healthy food. We act as stewards of this land, caring for its health to support yours.
